Spend five days in an exotic abode located on an organic farm – the perfect refuge for meditation and exploration.

The Location

Our retreat locale is just 25 miles south of historic Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Resting on the slopes of a volcano and at the edge of the rainforest, the retreat is well off the beaten path, nestled in manicured fruit orchards and surrounded by delightful flower and vegetable gardens.

The Accommodations

You will spend your nights on the retreat in one of five handcrafted island huts, constructed and dismantled in Bali, then shipped to the big island of Hawaii and painstakingly reconstructed. Each hut has its own redwood deck that faces the ocean and the sunrise. Covered walkways connect your hut to an open beamed main house with 16-foot ceilings and polished pacific island hardwood floors.

Excursions

There is so much to see on the Big Island! Some of the places we hope to visit include Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (where you can hike out to the active lava flow), Lava Tree State Park, the local tide pools (amazing snorkeling), Punalu'u black sands beach (a great spot to see the sea turtles), and the farmers' markets in Hilo and Pahoa.

The ocean you see from your hut is a mere three miles away, with snorkeling, swimming, surf spots, warm ponds and lava flows in close proximity. The retreat is also close to the Kahena black sands beach and Pohiki, the local surf spot.

A highlight of the retreat is sure to be the trip to Puna Organics for a talk on how cultivation works, followed by a cooking demonstration.

The Details

Price

TBD includes:

  • accommodation for five nights
  • three meals daily, excluding travel days
  • daily flow yoga classes
  • use of all facilities
  • airport group transfers
  • applicable taxes

Flights

Since the trip begins and ends mid-week, you may wish to extend your Hawaiian vacation. Therefore, airfare is not included. Please book your individual flight to arrive at the Hilo International Airport

Payment

A deposit of $150 is due before Aug 15, 2010 to secure your place on the retreat. Final payment is due on or before Sept 1, 2010 or an additional $75 will be added to the fee.

Deposits are 50% refundable up to 90 days before departure.
